The Diabetes Center Nutritionist provides outpatient nutrition counseling or Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for people with or without diabetes. Our goal is to meet the individual’s nutrition needs based on their medical history and food preferences. Physician referral and appointment are required.
Services are available for people who are interested in:
losing weight
lowering cholesterol
preparing for gastric bypass surgery or lap band
controlling blood pressure
receiving nutrition recommendations for any medical condition, such as gastrointestinal problems, unintentional weight loss, renal disease, etc.
Sessions with the Nutritionist, who is a Registered Dietitian, may include information on:
relationship of various foods to your medical condition
menu ideas and food preparation techniques
reading labels
tips for dining out

The Health Questionnaire, Insurance Cards, we will file charges with your insurance. It is important that you check with your insurance company and ask what they cover for Diabetes Education CPT Code G0109.
We do not encourage the presence of children. We have staff and other patients with allergies, so please refrain from wearing perfume. You may bring a sweater or light jacket, the classroom is sometimes cool.
