PROVIDENCE HOSPITAL, MOBILE, ACHIEVES GOLD FOR HEART FAILURE PROGRAM
Providence Hospital has been awarded GOLD (2nd highest) status for its participation in the American Heart Association's GET WITH THE GUIDELINES - HEART FAILURE (GWTG-HF) program for achieving at least two years of 85% or higher adherence to the GWTG program quality indicators to improve quality of patient care and outcomes. In 2009, Providence Hospital received the SILVER (3rd highest) status.
GWTG – HF is the American Heart Association’s collaborative quality improvement program, demonstrated to improve adherence to evidence-based care of patients hospitalized with heart failure. The program provides hospitals with a Web-based Patient Management Tool™, decision support, robust registry, real-time benchmarking capabilities and other performance improvement methodologies toward the goal of enhancing patient outcomes and saving lives.
Providence Hospital will be listed in the AHA's ad in the U.S. News and World Report - Best Hospitals issue which is due out the summer of 2010.
